Tax Manager (Hybrid)
 
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Manager who is interested in joining our Corporate Tax team. You will be responsible for income tax provision, domestic tax compliance, tax controversy, tax planning, and other tax projects as needed.  You must have strong tax technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in our San Jose office and will report to the Director of Domestic Tax.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision
  • Prepare quarterly federal and state income tax estimated tax calculations and facilitate payments
  • Prepare federal and state income tax return workpapers and coordinate and review tax returns prepared by outside service providers
  • Facilitate federal and state R&D credit effort
  • Support tax audits by tax authorities and/or financial statement auditors (includes gathering documentation, preparing responses to tax authorities, and managing communication regarding discrepancies or notices)
  • Support income tax projects such as tax planning, purchase accounting, discontinued operations, and entity tax basis (inside/outside basis)
  • Monitor and model potential tax implications of federal and/or state income tax legislation, case law and rulemaking
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and automation through redesign of existing workpapers and the use of tools such as Microsoft CoPilot
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working on federal and state income tax issues facing large multinational corporations
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Master’s degree in Taxation or CPA  is a plus
  • Strong technical tax and ASC 740 knowledge with demonstrated experience in tax provision and compliance
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experienced in research, analysis and documentation of complex tax issues
  • Experienced in NetSuite, Microsoft CoPilot or other AI tools is a plus
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrated by consistently meeting deadlines and effectively managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and a problem-solver, with strong collaboration and communication skills and an interest in learning new skills and technology

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $150,711 - $170,000 plus bonus and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
